Take a sonic road trip with Margaret River indie-folk duo Salt Tree on their new single ‘Coming Home To You’.
The duo of Tom Boerema and Nathan Parsons have been friends for a long time. After years living in Europe (separately), it was the pandemic that brought them back home and ultimately to making music together as Salt Tree culminating in their 2020 debut EP release ‘Out Of The Water’
Recorded in Margaret River in a shipping container, ‘Coming Home To You’ was produced and mixed by Boerema, adding to the clarity and precision of the song’s overall direction. Elevating each other in studio and generally as a duo, both Boerema and Parsons shine on this record as, lyrically, they navigate themes of home, nature and being at one with it all.
“We both grew up close to the ocean and around nature, which has always been a huge part of our lives,” Tom says.
“As a kid, Nath would take any chance he got to surf, even if it meant skipping school. Tom spent a lot of time sailing, with his whole family living on a boat for months at a time.”
Salt Tree are midway through their first national headline tour, which finishes in Fremantle at Clancy’s Fish Pub in late-June.
‘Become What You Are’, the new album from The Daisycutters is available now via MADCAP Global Music, JB Hi-Fi and independent music retailers.
