Listen To The Daisycutters On Hot Tomato 102.9 FM

Still riding high on the release of their latest album ‘Become What You Are’, Gold Coast indie rockers The Daisycutters are hitting the local airwaves.

Tune into Hot Tomato 102.9 FM on Thursday (17 August) between 3-7pm to hear Cameron Wilson and Giles Hammond from The Daisycutters chat with drive hosts Moyra and Big Trev about the band’s longevity and their new album.

The Daisycutters are to the Gold Coast what Powderfinger is to Brisbane, and the GC natives have always worn their oceanfront heritage as a badge of honour.

“Brisbane and the Gold Coast are part of who we are and it soaks into how we write songs, it soaks into our music and into our reference points,” Cameron told MGE in 2020.

The band was born of sand, sun and surf in the ‘90s, appearing on the scene as pop-punk upstarts with hit singles like ‘Kiss Me Stupid’ and ‘Sick Day’.

Over the course of their discography, The Daisycutters have matured from their pop-punk roots into a far heavier songwriting unit, their 2008 album ‘Come Sweet Bullets’ showing a decidedly darker and grittier side to the band.

With the celebrated release of ‘Become What You Are’ – their first album in 15 years – The Daisycutters reminded everyone why they are Gold Coast royalty and the beloved sons of South-East Queensland.

Don’t miss Cameron and Giles with Moyra and Big Trev on Hot Tomato 102.9 FM.

Become What You Are’, the new album from The Daisycutters is available now via MADCAP Global Music, JB Hi-Fi and independent music retailers.
