Brisbane Broncos broke their premiership drought in spectacular fashion with a double win in the 2025 NRL and NRLW grand finals.
Brisbane Broncos beat Melbourne Storm 26-22 at Accor Stadium in Sydney on Sunday night, pulling off a miracle comeback after trailing the Storm 22-12 at half-time.
The second half brought more pain for the Broncos, losing both Adam Reynolds and Ben Hunt to injury. But an outstanding performance by Reece Walsh saw the Broncos overtake the Storm and seal victory in the final minutes.
It is the first time the Brisbane Broncos have won an NRL grand final since 2006 when they also beat Melbourne Storm. Commentators and fans alike have described it as one of the best grand final games they’ve witnessed in years.

Earlier in the afternoon, the NRLW grand final saw Brisbane Broncos defeat Sydney Roosters 22-18, bringing their undefeated season to an end.
The Broncos established an early lead to end the first half 12-0. But the Roosters came back in the second half, scoring three tries in ten minutes to turn a 12-point deficit into an 18-12 lead.
A try from Dally M Rookie of the Year Shalom Sauaso in the final 10 minutes kept the Broncos in the game, with a last-minute barnstorming try from Mele Hufanga knocking Roosters off their perch.
Two incredible comeback performances from two superbly talented teams, what a weekend of finals footy for Brisbane fans. The dual NRL/NRLW premiership victory comes after Brisbane Lions took out their second consecutive AFL premiership, marking a glorious and unprecedented trifecta.
