New Music: ‘Mini Skirt’ Jet City Sports Club

Sydney indie rock trio Jet City Sports Club are primed for the summer touring season with the release of their new single ‘Mini Skirt’.

‘Mini Skirt’ sees Jet City Sports Club build on the momentum they’ve accumulated over the past few years. The new single is a glimmering slice of pop-flavoured indie rock, energised by soaring melodies and heartfelt storytelling.

The band describes ‘Mini Skirt’ as being about “growing up” and realising there isn’t necessarily one right way to do things or move through life.

“You don’t have to be perfect or conform to the ways your friends, family or the world might want you to,” the band says of the song.

“The story is narrated from the perspective of a young girl going through serious body image issues and pressure to be someone they might not necessarily be. The verses talk about this, and the chorus aims to reclaim a sense of independence and self-worth.”

Since their debut in 2021, Jet City Sports Club have positioned themselves among one of the East Coast’s most promising young acts.

‘Mini Skirt’ is the perfect addition to Jet City Sports Club’s growing catalogue as they embark on a summer tour supporting Eliza & The Delusionals along with performances at Rolling Sets Festival and Party In The Paddock.
