Bluesfest Expands To Melbourne And Perth In 2023

The Doobie Brothers play Bluesfest Byron Bay, Melbourne and Perth.

Bluesfest will be coming to Melbourne and Perth in 2023 for the first-time ever.

It’s a monumental expansion for the iconic festival, which has traditionally taken place in Byron Bay since 1990.

Lucinda Williams, Buddy Guy, Ash Grunwald, The Doobie Brothers, Robert Glasper and Kaleo are among the bustling two-day line-up for Bluesfest Melbourne at Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.

“I am so excited to be bringing Australia’s leading music festival, Bluesfest Byron Bay down south to present a first of its kind two day indoor music festival,” festival director Peter Noble OAM says.

“We’ll be bringing some of the absolute premium international and local artists who perform at Bluesfest alongside the fantastic Melbourne artists to create an experience for music lovers that is unprecedented in this city.”

In Perth, Bluesfest presents a one-day event featuring The Doobie Brothers, Counting Crows, John Butler, Jessica Mauboy, Michael Franti & Spearhead and Christone ‘Kingfish’ Ingram, with more to be announced.

The Bluesfest are also celebrated being awarded Gold at the NSW Tourism Awards in the Major Festivals and Events category for the sixth time.

Bluesfest Perth is on at Nikola Estate (Swan Valley) Saturday 1 April 2023.
Bluesfest Melbourne is on at Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre 8-9 April 2023.
