New Music: ‘Tales Of The Yeti’ EP by South Summit
Perth indie outfit South Summit have released their new EP ‘Tales Of The Yeti’, an expansive and introspective six-track that reflects the journey the band have all been on.
From late night jams to writing on the road, South Summit wanted to explore every aspect and realm of their influences, working them all into ‘Tales Of The Yeti’.
“For ‘Tales Of The Yeti’ we wanted to keep building musically from what we had previously done before, experimenting with more styles and not being strict on what themes came out of the jamming process,” Nehemiah Reuben says.
“This EP covers a few genres and shows what we’re capable of when playing music. We enjoy all types of different styles and love jamming whatever feels good, this EP is a good representation of that.”
The EP features two new tracks ‘Dreaming’ and ‘Fallen Friend’ alongside four previously released singles ‘Just Like You’, ‘I Feel It’, ‘Tuned In’ and ‘Sidelines’.
‘Tales Of The Yeti’ comes after South Summit spent 18 months touring Australia, including visits to schools, prisons and youth detention centres across WA for last year’s NAIDOC week. Their adventures and experiences inspired the creation of ‘Tales Of The Yeti’.
The EP was recorded at WA’s own Blackbird Sound Studio with Dave Parkin (Spacey Jane, Tired Lion, Bob Evans), with mastering by Grammy-award nominated producer Brian Lucey (Liam Gallagher, The Black Keys, Lime Cordiale).
South Summit brings their shared passion for music to audiences on the upcoming ‘Running From The Yeti’ tour in November, including their first dates in New Zealand.
