AC/DC fans have celebrated what would have been frontman Bon Scott’s 80th birthday, raising their horns in respect for on of rock and roll’s most iconic voices. Devout fans made the pilgrimage to Bon’s memorial statue in Fremantle to honour Bon’s birthday. Born in Scotland and raised in the West Australian port city, Bon Scott became the lead singer of AC/DC in 1974 and served on six albums until his death in 1980.
Lauren Bennett, member of all-girl pop group GRL, was found dead at the age of 36. Autopsy reports conclude she died at the end of May despite not being discovered until weeks later. A feature vocalist on LMFAO’s 2011 monster hit ‘Party Rock Anthem’, Lauren is the second member of the group to pass following bandmate Simone Battle’s death by suicide in 2014. Later reports indicate Lauren also died by suicide.
Adelaide’s Harvest Rock Festival has announced it will be taking a fallow year in 2026, placing the event on temporary hiatus. “We know this will be disappointing news to many of you,” the promoter wrote in a statement on social media. “But good things take time, and we’re already working on future plans. We appreciate the ongoing support of the South Australian government in making the event a huge success to date, and we look forward to partying with you soon.”
Bringing music back to one of the country’s best waterfront settings, The Point is set to be an exciting new addition to the Australian music calendar. Presented by Fuzzy, the live music series will welcome some of the country’s most beloved acts to a floating stage at The Fleet Steps, located at Mrs Macquaries Point this September, October, and November. The series will host ICEHOUSE, Missy Higgins, The Teskey Brothers, Hot Dub On The Harbour, and Harbourlife.
From the streets of Sacramento, CAKE are returning to our shores in 2027 for the band’s first Australian tour in 15 years. In ‘An Evening with CAKE’, the band performs two sets covering their entire catalogue of six studio albums, including 2011’s ‘Showroom Of Compassion’. It’s a must-see show for fans as the band work through classics like ‘The Distance’ as well as ‘Short Skirt / Long Jacket’, ‘Never There’, ‘Frank Sinatra’, ‘I Will Survive’ and ‘Love You Madly’, plus many more.
American rockers Jimmy Eat World will be in Australia this December to wrap up their ‘Bleed American’ 25th anniversary tour. Their first time here since 2017, Jimmy Eat World are celebrating their seminal 2001 album. “I feel like at this time in our lives, especially for me, it’s important to get back to a place that you can savour,” frontman Jim Adkins said. “This tour is designed to be an elevated version of our show, a heightened experience with production that reflects 25 years of learning how to stretch artistically in the live environment.”
R&B icons Boyz II Men are returning to Australia and New Zealand in November and December for a run of arena shows, plus the return of a day on the green for 2026. Joining them for an unmissable celebration of timeless hits, iconic voices and era-defining anthems are rap royalty Salt-N-Pepa and, for the first time in Australia, R&B and hip-hop pioneers Bell Biv DeVoe.
Sydney indie duo Pamela today release their long-awaited debut EP, ‘It’s Nice To See You Here’ – a six-track introduction to a band carving out their own distinct space in modern indie pop. Alongside the release, the duo unveils the video for EP opener ‘Pandemonium’ and announce their first-ever headline tour, taking them across the UK and France this July before returning home for Australian dates throughout August. Melbourne 4-piece Munroe have today shared another piece of jangly, textured and vulnerable alt rock with their latest single ‘My Time’ – out today alongside the announcement of their forthcoming EP ‘Said And Done’ out September 10. Following the release of previous EP single ‘Happening Again’ released earlier this year, ‘My Time’ shines as one of the bands strongest releases to date.
