On The Highway To Here: AC/DC Tour Australia In 2025
The greatest rock band in the world AC/DC are returning to Australia at the end of the year for the Power Up world tour.
It’s been a decade since AC/DC were last here for the Rock Or Bust tour in 2015 and 2016. In November, they bring the Power Up (PWR/UP) stadium shows to Melbourne (November 12), Sydney (November 21), Adelaide (November 30), Perth (December 4) and Brisbane (December 14).
AC/DC have been on the road with PWR/UP since last year, rocking audiences throughout Europe and North America. The PWR/UP tour is in support of their 17th studio album of the same name, released in 2020.
During the Rock Or Bust tour in 2016, vocalist Brian Johnson was diagnosed with severe hearing loss and was temporarily replaced by Guns ‘n’ Roses frontman Axl Rose for the rest of the tour. Johnson is back on vocals for PWR/UP, alongside the legendary Angus Young on lead guitar still rocking the schoolboy uniform. They are joined by Angus’ nephew Stevie Young on guitar, drummer Matt Laug, and bass player Chris Chaney.
The PWR/UP album was an unexpected comeback for AC/DC. Along with Brian’s departure in 2016, bassist Cliff Williams was on the verge of leaving the band, and drummer Phil Rudd was under house arrest following drugs and death threat charges. Meanwhile, Angus’ brother and founding rhythm guitarist Malcolm Young died in 2017, having retired from the band in 2014 due to dementia.
The upcoming tour will be the first Australian shows AC/DC perform since Malcolm’s passing. AC/DC will be supported at all five Australian by ascendant Melbourne rockers Amyl & The Sniffers.
Since the release of their debut album ‘High Voltage’ in 1975, AC/DC have been the bloody, beating heart of Aussie rock. Their influence is immense and unquestionable, having inspired countless musicians around the world to pursue rock & roll greatness. From classic anthems of the Bon Scott era, like ‘TNT’, ‘Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap’ and ‘Highway To Hell’, to Johnson’s debut on ‘Back In Black’ and right through to the ‘Power Up’ album, AC/DC have never failed to deliver the high-energy, ball-busting brand of rock fans have come to expect.
The European leg of the PWR/UP tour sold more than two million tickets in 24 hours. With similarly high demand predicted for the Australia PWR/UP shows, Ticketek is urging patrons to be fully prepared for the purchase process.
