New Music: The Sporks ‘State Of You’

Out of the mouths of babes, Welsh indie rock young guns The Sporks release their second single ‘State Of You’.

The Sporks follow-up on their electrifying debut single ‘Runaway’ with ‘State Of You’, a hybrid indie banger borrowing sonically from The Black Keys, Jimi Hendrix and Supergrass.

‘State Of You’ is a bold statement from The Sporks, a band still solidifying their musical identity. Turning a deaf ear to the contemporary AI generated sound, the band’s retro rock originals are stripped back and simple by design.

The new track is the alt-rock flipside to the dreamy feels of their first single ‘Runaway’, exposing a rougher edge of The Sporks’ songwriting. It’s a strong foundation for their upcoming EP due for a UK summer release.

Following breakthrough gigs last year at the Moon in Cardiff with This Feeling and Shunkfest (grassroots music festival), The Sporks continue to build their presence in the volatile landscape of modern music.

At just 18 years old, The Sporks are the youngest act signed to Welsh indie label Shiny Vinyl Presents. Shiny Vinyl is a not for profit record label seeking to encourage the production of quality original music from Port Talbot and surrounding areas.
